The Minds Behind ArbiSophy

Dr. K. Srinivasa Rao

Banking Strategist | Academic | Financial Thought Leader

If institutions evolve, it is because thinkers like Dr. Rao challenge how they are built.

Dr. Kemba Srinivasa Rao stands at the intersection of banking, policy, and education, bringing a perspective that is both deeply analytical and widely influential. His journey spans leadership roles such as General Manager – Strategic Planning at Bank of Baroda, Secretary to the Board of Bank of Baroda, and CMD, and he is well-versed in corporate governance and risk management, as well as the nuances of managing board-related matters.

In the field of education, he was an Associate Professor at the National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) and subsequently served as Director of the National Institute of Banking Studies and Corporate Management (NIBSCOM), positions where decisions shape not just organizations but systems.

Currently an Adjunct Professor at IIRM, he continues to mentor future leaders in risk and finance, bringing academic depth into real-world application.

With a Ph.D. in Commerce from Banaras Hindu University, an MBA in Finance, and a Law degree, his foundation is as rigorous as his thinking is expansive. His books on banking —

  • Transformation of Public Sector Banks in India
  • Changing Dimensions of Banking in India
  • Making of a Banker – Learning on the Way
  • Smart Banking for the New Age Bankers

— and his contributions to platforms like Ideas for India and Times of India blog ('Kembai Speaks') reflect a mind committed to questioning, refining, and advancing financial systems.

But beyond titles and publications, his true impact lies in making complex financial realities understandable, relevant, and actionable.

At Arbisophy, Dr. Rao brings intellectual gravity, systemic clarity, and the ability to shape how risk management and nuances of finance is understood for generations ahead.

Dr. Roop Kumar Nagumantry

Enterprise Risk Leader | Former EVP & Head of Risk, SBI Life | President – RIMS India

Risk, in most organizations, is managed. In rare ones, it is mastered.

Dr. Roop Kumar Nagumantry has spent his career ensuring it becomes the latter.

As Executive Vice President and Head of Risk at SBI Life Insurance, he led enterprise-wide functions covering risk management, information security, and business continuity, turning risk into a strategic pillar rather than a reactive safeguard. His work reflects a philosophy where risk is not a barrier — it is a framework for confidence and growth.

His influence extends into the larger ecosystem as the President of the India Chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS), where he plays a key role in advancing industry standards and cultivating a future-ready risk culture.

What distinguishes Dr. Roop Kumar is his ability to combine boardroom strategy with ground-level execution, ensuring that frameworks are not just designed, but lived within organizations.

A mentor, a leader, and a system-builder — his work continues to shape how risk is perceived across India's financial and insurance landscape.

At Arbisophy, he brings authority, structure, and a future-facing vision of risk leadership.
